Happy New Year 2011 - January 7, 2011

Looking ahead much better than looking back. 2010 was a challenging mixture of great learning and downright struggle. Part of me wants to indulge in these reflections, but the rest of me wants to bid it all a fond farewell and look with gratitude for the greater person yet that i am inspired to become and walk into this year with hope and allowance for all to be its evolving wonder.

Currently this website's playlist features the last four of the monthly additions having been more quiet and introspective. Each of these points of loss or encouragement seem to have been a constant in my life so far and simply take on different dynamic identities or public personality as far as their musical expression. Throughout, there are more-often wordless or more broadly inspired pieces of my creative produce abound but to date, there are lesser available means, equipment, time, money etc to realise these.

So while the humble offerings/musings that appear on this site will have more of a raw starkness to them, know that i am often brewing or exploring a continual development of my musical curiosity that who knows when or how may surface on a greater scale. Meantime, i am always blessed by the moment that any inspiration visits.

These days I am proud to have the privilege of passing on some of the fruit of my experience to budding musicians and singers as a teacher. I love this infinite groove that is time, so honourably graced by the animation of sound. What blessings to our dancing cells it all is..

Wishing you the best of all discovery.

New Music.. - March 31, 2010

New because comes the first in a monthly update of current musings from the pen or hand of Carl on the music page, a twisted de-tuned banjo tale...

New because the main current working duo known as Pot'n'Kettle is going to start performing under the simplicity of the more direct naming: 'Penny Larkins and Carl Pannuzzo

New because arrangements are afoot for the great event that is the Melbourne Millenium Chorus hosted by the fabulous Boite and directed this year by the afore-mentioned Penny Larkins and Carl Pannuzzo! Recommendations are that you should be part of it!! Details can be found on the Boite website: www.boite.com.au

And new because isn't it always new??!! :)

Reflections - January 31, 2010

As time goes by, so many blessings and trials
So many missed moments and meanwhiles
So often we're challenged by who we can be
Between true courage and brave smiles

As truth slips by, the time cares less
For real friends or emptiness
It's only our reality
That our dishonour will address

As chances taken or belayed
A reckless whim or safety staid
Our foolish subjectivity
Can't know your roses kiss or fade

And each to each do give and steal
Belief's depiction of the real
Projects a rare equality
That fairness be a thing to feel

To know each other in the now
Beyond the known, within the Tao
That all that do and don't agree
May find allowance to allow

So blossoms life, as death recalls
Infectious ivy scales our walls
Both poison and a will to be
Where nature knows, our reason falls

As love is fortune to recount
Immeasurable depth and amount
A better fate we'll seldom see
Than this benevolent bounty

Blessings abound.. - January 30, 2010

Somehow i'm too restless to write in a linear cognitive fashion right now tho there's much i want to share. Perhaps it is since having said so much already in music alone last night at Checkerboard's Bar Open gig, i am yet too fresh to regale my mind to proper working order. One thing's for sure, it's great to have Garrett Costigan back on board at the pedal steel. We pray for his ever bettering heath.. Spesh thanks to Richard Tankard (keys) and Andrew Clermont (elec violn) for bundling in some guesty fun with us too! www.myspace.com/checkeroutboard

...and a happy new year - December 28, 2009

So it's nice to have a new internet presence, it feels...new! Please do have a look around from time time as there's lots going on in many different places. If you consider the wealth of support that is word of mouth, then please do assist independent artists by telling friends about the things you like or that they might like that are coming near to their hometowns.

Jolly good on you!
More next time
